We have had a little break from the "playing" part of being in a band while we worked on the "career" bit for a couple of weeks. It was so nice to get back into the room and make noise with the guys again! We tried out a new idea "World In Miniature".... a concept Drew had told me about and I loved straight away so I had been inspired to write something about it. So on Saturday just gone I put together a musical idea I had recorded some drums, keys and acoustic (of all things.... not like me) and a vocal melody (miraculously with lyrics attached!!!). I have no idea where these things come from I swear! I think I may have been channeling some of Drew's ideas, mixed with the right melody, mixed with the tiniest bit of talent and a large bit of luck! I love it when that happens! So tonight we played the idea as a group and it is sounding like..... a song!
Let's see if it makes the cut.... I love it.... and I like the fact I wrote the majority of the lyrics in my first take ever of the song! Whoo!
I will attempt to explain the concept one of these days.... if Drew allows me. ;)
